About Luna Psychiatry

Luna Psychiatry is a clinician-led psychiatric practice founded by Melissa Muriel, PMHNP-BC. I provide personalized, evidence-based mental health care for adults, combining medication management with a supportive, collaborative approach.

I believe meaningful care begins with listening. My goal is to create a calm, respectful space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered in your care. Together, we focus on understanding the whole person, not just symptoms, while building practical, sustainable strategies for improved mental health and quality of life.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over nine years of nursing experience and nearly four years of experience practicing as a PMHNP. I have extensive experience providing psychiatric care in long-term care and inpatient psychiatric settings, including work with older adults with dementia and individuals with complex and serious mental illness.

I have a strong interest in functional psychiatry and am currently completing advanced training in this area, with a focus on root-cause and integrative approaches to mental health care.

My clinical background includes extensive experience working with older adults with dementia, as well as individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and sleep concerns across diverse populations.
